The long-awaited sixth album of Het Zesde Metaal will have to wait until the end of January. Today, the band has already released a second song. 'De Zaden Van Morgen' is the successor to the impressive title track 'Het Langste Jaar'.
Wannes Cappelle wrote 'De Zaden Van Morgen' some time ago in response to the exhibition ''Verstilde Stad' with visual work by Pieter Braecke, Hans Op de Beeck and Berlinde De Bruyckere. The song sings about the silence that follows a crisis. The seeping realization of what happened yesterday, the mourning for what is lost and the longing for a tomorrow with new possibilities.
'Het Langste Jaar' is the last album by Het Zesde Metaal in the classic line-up. Earlier this year, we had to say goodbye to keyboardist, guitarist and belpop icon Tom Pintens. It was his wish to make one last record with Het Zesde Metaal; Tom also produced himself for the first time. 'Het Langste Jaar'. is the musical reflection of the heaviest period in the band's history. Still, at the same time, it is perhaps the most melodic record in your Het Zesde Metal collection, with more room than ever for subtle but extremely efficient arrangements.
