The long-awaited new album from The Bony King of Nowhere will be released on Unday Records on February 2. 'Everybody Knows' is the successor to Bram Vanparys' success album 'Silent Days' from 2018. To celebrate, we invite a number of fans to an exclusive and intimate event in The Bony King's hometown of Ghent. On the eve of the album release we are hosting a stripped down live session, a Q&A about the new record and what preceded it, and a signing session.
People who preorder the new record from The Bony King of Nowhere or Unday Records webshop automatically have a chance to win a duo ticket. This also applies to people who have already ordered the record, they automatically enter the competition. We will send an invitation for two people to 15 winners a couple of days before the event.
The new album, entitled 'Everybody Knows', was a long time coming, partly due to Bram Vanparys' never-ending commitment to innovation and evolution. The first songs we got to share already give a clear hint of what this album sounds like. 'Are You Still Alive' and 'Almost Invisible' have the signature sound and atmosphere, but with added nuance and detail. The album sounds ambitious and international, Vanparys sets the bar very high both lyrically and musically. This time he also addresses delicate themes such as the docility of civilians, the structural mendacity of those in power, entrenched social patterns and the toxicity of online communication. Inspired by the observations of many sociologists, Vanparys sings about our society which is turning out to be the loneliest ever. However, the album is more than just a dystopia, it also drives on hope and strength at the same time.
