We’re happy to announce Bert Dockx has been working on a follow up to ‘Transit’, his successful solo debut. This double A side single we're releasing today is a first taste of the new Bert Dockx solo album 'Safe', due March 18.
‘Safe’ will be the second album Bert Dockx (Dans Dans, Flying Horseman, Ottla, Strand) releases under his own name. This time Dockx is not flying entirely solo though, he gets help from Loesje and Martha Maieu (Flying Horseman, Blackie & The Oohoos) and Thomas Jillings (Ottla, Linus). Koen Gisen, Ghent based producer for connoisseurs, is back at the controls.
The enthralling ‘Palmares’ evokes a mythical landscape, it’s the musical expression of an age-old desire for peace, harmony and freedom. Bert’s guitar is playing the lead, while Loesje and Martha Maieu’s stunning backing vocals offer a melancholic counterpoint.
‘Pit’ on the other hand is a dark, visceral song about all-consuming love pain. The song slowly evolves into an intense, almost suffocating climax.
