Goodbye World is the second single of the upcoming Jan Verstraeten album to see the light of day.
Once again, Jan Verstraeten shows us the laws of physics are about the only ones that get a grip on him and his work. Goodbye World is about the frivolous escapism we all crave. We know the drill of the old world: the right books have been read, the coveted careers have been acquired, our picture perfect homes have matching plates and silverware and we do quite well at family gatherings. We have done well yet here we are: bored and eager to dance. We’re fed up, take anything you want from us. Free us from the responsibilities that come with the comfort. We don’t really need any of the stuff we own. All we truly need now is to dance. Violently. Freely. For no other reason than to move and shed the skin that gathered all the dust. The world is dead… long live the world. The feast is real and it starts right here.
